Gogol Bordello, “Pala Tute”

The video for “Pala Tute”, by Gogol Bordello, is my new favourite music video. Visually, this is the best video I’ve seen in a fair while. I love it. You can watch the video here on MySpace, but here are some lovely images of my favourite parts. What are your favourite music videos?

Murder In Monochrome

Someone came here looking for Murder In Monochrome. Here you go!

Gogol Bordello

On Friday night I went to see Gogol Bordello in Hammersmith. Their pop concerts feel more like a party and they’re definitely one of the best live bands I have ever, ever seen. Pala Tute (above) was the highlight for me – which was followed by Start Wearing Purple. Spoiling us. It’s just a shame we had to wait in a sweaty, backstage corridor for half an hour while Eugene was ‘getting changed’, for him then to jump in a car and drive off. I can forgive him, though. I’m not very good at writing about these things. Just listen.

Everything Is Illuminated

The header on this page may give away my obsession love of ‘Everything Is Illuminated’.
It’s one of my favourite books and films. If you haven’t read or seen it, I suggest you read
the book first. I made the mistake of starting with the fillm, thus pictured Jonathan as Frodo Baggins and heard Eugene Hutz’s voice in my head (not that I’m complaining!) Here’s a beautiful song by DeVotchKa, ‘How It Ends’, soundtracking a trailer of sorts. I love this.
